Why Are Hummingbirds Attracted to Red?

Hummingbirds are attracted to bright colors, especially red and orange. These colors are Mother Nature’s way of saying to hummingbirds, NECTAR! FOOD! COME FEAST HERE! However, caution first...if you are considering setting up your garden as a haven for hummingbirds, please discontinue the use of all chemicals. Nearly all pest-control products are dangerous to our little jewels. They are so tiny that even a small amount of pesticides may be hazardous to their health.
